We cannot escape the presence of God but we can forget that we are always in the Divine embrace. St. Ignatius recommends that before each prayer time we become consciously aware that we are immersed in the presence of God. Take a few moments, or as long as you need, to realize that you are going to spend time with someone who loves you when you set out to pray. Ignatius says, “ I am to imagine how God our Lord is looking in wonder at me.”
