The Mystic Teilhard DeChardin says this:

All things seem to be just what they appear to be on the surface, but actually everything is ablaze with Divine Fire. Fire represents the energy in the human psyche. For Teilhard, Fire was the symbol of spiritual awakening and the transformative unity in all creation. Fire refers to love as an energy that can bring all things into oneness with Christ. Thus what seems separate is linked.
